ALEX SANDERS IS OFFERED AND COMMITS!

Springfield Glendale WR/TE Alex Sanders was offered by Tigers today at their team camp and accepted.

"I was on the Renagade team and I worked out one on one with Coach Walker. Then later on I received an offer from Coach Pinkel and I told him that I really did not have to think about it, so I committed on the spot." said Sanders.

" With the success the team has had and especially the tight ends have had as well, it is just a perfect situation for me and I feel as though I fit into it perfectly."

Sanders had impressed the Tigers at their one day camp in Springfield and during his time at this team camp which seemed to have sealed the deal in the minds of Tiger coaches.

" I had an idea that an offer might be coming after being in camp a little bit. They told me that I proved myself with these two camps and earned my offer. I am really happy "

Alex had to leave  the Tiger camp for a 7 on 7 tournament his Glendale team will be attending at Kansas.

Sanders becomes the Tigers 8th commit and third this week.

GLENDALE`S SANDERS PICKS UP FIRST OFFER

Springfield Glendale WR/TE prospect Alex Sanders picked up his first offer from local school Missouri St. this past week.

"Coach Allen called me and told me that they wanted to offer and let me know that they had a spot saved for me whenever I want it." said Sanders.

Alex has been doing very well at various combines he has attended and was also at the Missouri Black & Gold game recently. He gave me his thoughts on the game and the Tigers overall.

" The game was great. They look really good and it was exciting to watch in the first half. I sat with Evan Conrad and BJ Ray. I got the chance to talk to Coach Christensen for a minute even though he was pretty busy. I like Mizzou a lot."

As far as recruiting goes he said that it`s pretty much the same outside of his recent offers.
"It`s still the same schools that I am interested in. I did get a letter from Ohio St. the other day saying that they got my tape and will be in touch." said Sanders.

SPRINGFIELD RECEIVER CHECKING OUT BIG 12 SCHOOLS

Springfield Glendale WR/TE Alex Sanders 6`5" 205lbs used his unique blend of size, speed and hands to his advantage in the Falcons spread offense, having a breakout year catching 71 passes for 1,173 yards and 15 TDs in 2007 on his way to All-State and All Ozarks honors.

Colleges have taken notice and Sanders has recently made junior day trips to both Missouri on Feb 2nd and more recently Kansas this past weekend.

"The visit to Mizzou was very good. We got to see a really good basketball game, talk with coaches and see the facilities. Coach Christensen is recruiting me and I got a chance to talk with him. I really like him and he`s good to talk with and a good guy."said Sanders.

Kansas is also a school he has interest in and compared the two visits.

"The KU junior day was good. They had something like 150-200 kids there, so you did not get much time talking with coaches. We ate and looked around. There were a bunch of other kids from Missouri there as well.I will say that it seemed more personal at Mizzou junior day and you got more one on one time."Sanders added.

Besides Mizzou and KU, Alex is hearing from schools like Arkansas and K-State as well. He has some criteria that he is looking for in a school.

"Location, academics and playing time will be important. Schools that are recruiting me are looking at me playing TE and being a receiving type TE. I really like Mizzou and their offense and feel that I would fit in well with how they use the tight end. Kansas is another school i`m interested in a lot." said Sanders.

Alex also runs some track and plays basketball at Glendale. He plans on attending the Nike camp at Stanford, Iowa camp and a 7 on 7 camp at Kansas.

Alex Sanders is a big ,physical receiver who runs well and makes yards after the catch.  He has great size and good hands with good speed. He self reports testing times of 4.64 forty, 32" vertical jump, 4.36 shuttle, a 285lb bench max and 395lb squat.
